DREAMING OF CAPRI

In this study from the Dreaming of Capri series, I utilized a monochromatic palette to strip away the island’s famous blues, instead exposing its raw, skeletal grandeur. The choice of black and white serves as a deliberate abstraction, allowing the sculptural interplay of light and shadow to redefine the limestone cliffs as architectural artifacts. By capturing the ethereal suspension of clouds above the rhythmic mass of the sea, the image achieves a vivid permanence that transcends a traditional landscape. It is a visual exercise in tonal depth and elemental clarity, presenting Capri not as a destination, but as an enduring icon of nature’s own design.
